Indo Board Fitness @ B-fit Expo 2012!

Come and see us at B-fit Expo 2012!

Academy of Exercise Studies (AES) and Indo Board Fitness are excited to announce their attendance at the B-Fit Expo.

This fantastic event has been launched to inspire, educate and motivate those looking to improve their fitness, health and wellbeing.

B-Fit Expo is being held at Excel in London.  Over 11,000 visitors will attend interactive demonstrations and have the opportunity to see firsthand the latest fitness trends.  Exhibitors range from gym operators to training providers and nutrition companies.

AES will be at the expo to promote their Diploma in Exercise Studies and their new CPD courses.  Their Diploma includes the Indo Board Trainer qualification that is proving more and more popular with fitness professionals.

Liam Johnson, qualifications director at AES, said “the B-fit Expo will be a fantastic opportunity to provide those individuals interested in embarking on a career in the fitness industry the information they need.  As a responsible provider of industry specific qualifications we want to provide people with a range of opportunities that will allow them to take their first steps to turning their passion into profession.”

The Indo Board Trainer course is included in AES’s Diploma package because of the belief in the Indo Boarding training modality and the benefits it can provide trainer and participant.

Adriano Roldan, European Distributor and Director of Indo Board Fitness reported “there’s a real buzz around Indo Board at the moment, increasing numbers of trainers are getting great results with their clients, and we aim to educate the mainstream fitness industry about the benefits of the Indo Board Trainer”.

AES and Indo Board Fitness will be on stand A5 throughout the weekend, plus on the Sunday the visitors will be treated to two practical demonstrations by Indo Board Fitness’ Master Trainer Danni Clarke.  The demos will take place in the B-Active area of the show at 10.40-11.00am and then again at 14.00-14.20pm.

The next Indo Board Trainer course is taking place on 4th February 2012 at Academy of Exercise Studies Bournemouth centre of excellence.

This may be the last chance in 2012 to be taught by Indo Board Master Trainer Kevin Hubble before he relocates to America.   He will be continuing to drive the Indo Board training modality forward on the other side of the Atlantic.

Adriano Roldan, Director of Indo Board Europe, said “Kevin has been an integral part of developing Indo Board in the UK fitness market and he will be greatly missed as a Master Trainer; but it is an exciting time for Personal Trainers who are also qualified Indo Board Trainers as there will be future opportunities to step up into instructor roles.”

Since the course was endorsed by SkillsActive in 2011 the demand for training has increased significantly as more fitness professionals are seeing the versatility Indo Board can provide to their clients.

“Awesome course and an awesome day!”

Amy, Indo Board Trainer 2011

This Skills Active endorsement now puts the Indo Board Balance Trainer on the fitness map as a must have piece of equipment. Liam Johnson, Director of Academy of Exercise Studies and qualified Physiotherapist, suggests “The Indo Board Balance Trainer offers so much variety to the trainer and participant, it’s not just another wobble board.  The versatility that the cushion, roller and different shaped decks provides means an Indo Board can be used for remedial exercise right through to professional athletes enhancing sporting performance.  It’s rare to find a piece of equipment that can offer the Personal Trainer so many options when it comes to programme design and exercise selection”.

Roldan said “We are excited to be rolling Indo Board Trainer courses out across the UK and Europe. We will be working with Academy of Exercise Studies to ensure gym operators, Personal Trainers and participants are properly instructed in how to get the most out of the equipment”.

Indo Board Trainer courses will be coming to an area near you soon.  The next course is running in Bournemouth on Saturday 4th February 2012, spaces for this course are already limited due to the high demand so for further details, or to find out where future courses will be happening, please phone 0845 835 0277.  Further details can also be found on the organisations websites:

Indo Board Fitness Course endorsed by Skills Active

Indo Board is proud to announce the recent endorsement by Skills Active of their Indo Board Trainer Course in the UK.  This official approval means the course now carries 8 REPs points and is open to any fitness professional with a minimum Level 2 Gym Instruction or Exercise to Music qualification.

REPS_V_GROUP_LOGOREPS_BADGE_CPD 8_LOGOIndo Fitness, the UK fitness industry’s arm of Indo Board Europe, is working in conjunction with Academy of Exercise Studies, a UK based fitness industry training provider, to promote the Indo Board as a versatile personal training and group exercise tool.

Adriano Roldan, Director of Indo Board Europe, said “We want the Indo Board Balance Trainer to be looked upon as an integral part of the UK Fitness Industry by offering a fun and challenging core based workout to a wide spectrum of individuals.”

The Indo Board Balance Trainer has been used for many years by elite professional board sports athletes (surfers, snowboarders, wakeboarders, water skiers and skateboarders, etc.) as well as athletes from all main stream sports that utilise balance training as a key element in their functional fitness programs. The creator, Hunter Joslin, a lifelong surfer from the USA, needed a device that would stimulate the neuromuscular system on days when it wasn’t possible to get in the water. The Indo Board design was conceived in 1975, has evolved far beyond surfing, turning into the most versatile balance trainer in the market place.

The next course is running in Bournemouth on Saturday 19th November, spaces for this course are already limited due to the high demand so for further details, or to find out where future courses will be happening, please phone 0845 835 0277.  Further details can also be found on the organisations websites:

Academy of Exercise Studies adds Indo Board

24 Aug 2011
By Tom Walker

Training provider Academy of Exercise Studies (AES) has become the first UK company to add Indo Board courses to its offering.

Indo Board is a balance trainer that was created by American surfer Hunter Joslin in the 1980s.
The Indo Board consists of a wooden deck placed upon a specially molded plastic roller, or cushion and can be used either for serious workouts.

AES, launched in 2010 by Liam Johnson and Helen Wilson, is offering exercise professionals the opportunity to get to grips with the Indo training kit as part of its diploma programme.

Johnson said: “The Indo Board course is currently going through the endorsement process at Skillsactive, once this is completed we will be running Indo Board courses throughout the UK and pioneering its use in the UK fitness industry.
“As yet a handful of gyms stock the equipment in the UK but as more and more personal trainers use the product its commercial use will significantly rise.”
During the eight week diploma programme, delegates will achieve a total of nine qualifications: level 2 certificate in gym instruction; level 3 certificate in personal training; indoor group cycling; studio based circuits; first aid for appointed persons; kettlebell training; advanced postural analysis; exercise for pre and post natal clients; and the Indo Board trainer.

Kingston Maurward College, Dorset, gets “Indo” it!!

On 29th September 2010 Master trainer Jase travelled to the Kingston Maurward College in Dorset and delivered 2 half day indo taster sessions to the students.  Jase said, “This was an awesome day, the students were all very attentive and keen to learn and made my job very easy”

kingston-maurward

Here are some quotes from course tutor Neal Burton  and a sample of the students:

Personally as the tutor I found the day to be spot on in every way.  The sessions were run with a clear aim set out at the start, clear regard for health & safety and with progression in mind.  Having purchased my Indo Pro back in the summer I just knew my students would enjoy the same experience as me.  However, due to the sound instruction given by Jase they thoroughly enjoyed the sessions far more than just watching the instructional DVD you receive when purchasing an Indoboard.  I managed to join in  on one of the sessions for an hour and really enjoyed trying out the Indo Flow Cushion and different style boards…a real treat!

A top day!

Many thanks,Neal – College Tutor.

“Indo Boarding was a cool experience and certainly one to be remembered.I gained a better understanding of the sport and found that it also helps me to improve my balance, posture and stance. For those like me who Surf, Snowboard and skateboard this is a great way to build up your confidence, muscle resistance and improve on your fitness. I’m addicted now and looking purchase my first Indo Board soon!”

Jonesy

“To add to the bumps and bruises from falling off, and the muscle workout, my stomach hurts from giggling so hard. What an experience! Dear Santa, please can I have an indoboard this year? I promise I’ve been good! Made me realise how much weaker my left leg is from an injury that was 12 years ago. Need to do some serious strengthening and work on my balance to improve that, and i think indoboarding could be a good form of therapy for this. All in all, a fantastic experience and something I hope I’ll be doing again in the near future”. Clare
